Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 & Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Design Change

Samsung Galaxy Z series

Samsung’s foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold, has seen significant improvements since its launch, however, a crease is still visible. The company aims to address this issue with its next foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 & Galaxy Z Flip 5, by incorporating a new hinge mechanism.

Samsung had patented a teardrop hinge back in 2016, but it was not used in any of its devices due to concerns over waterproofing. However, now that this issue has been resolved, the company is rumored to be using this “droplet,” or “dumbbell” hinge in its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 device. This new hinge design would improve the overall structural integrity of the display, making it more durable for folding and unfolding actions.

Samsung is rumored to be using a “droplet-style” hinge for its upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 device, which is expected to be released later this year. This new hinge design would allow the device to fold completely flat with no gap between the two halves when folded, and also make the crease less visible when unfolded.
